Research managers and researchers are among the direct beneficiaries of COHRED’s work with countries.The tools and approaches developed by COHRED for strengthening and better managing national health research systems are designed for use by managers of health research – in government, research institutions or large regional programmes. These include: 

• a framework for assessing and developing the research system,
• policy development,
• priority setting,
• research contracting and
• communication of research for maximum impact.

COHRED also enables the exchange of experience between research managers and others with an interest in national health research, nationally and across countries. These stakeholders include policy makers, civil society organisations, donors and research sponsors.
