Description: The Independent Commission on Health in India has been established to critically diagnose the illnesses affecting various arms of the health services of the country and develop a clear recommendation for future action. The Commission examined available Documents, secondary data, travelled to various parts of the country, conducted public hearings on some of the key issues and initiated primary research on areas of critical concern. Analysis of the available data clearly shows very uneven health and development progress in various parts of the country. To achieve progress in the field of health and development there is a need to look at a holistic model of health care and improve the communication between modern and traditional systems of health care.
