Kenya: Capacity development for health research

Topic: Capacity strengthening

Description: The Young Researchers Support Program, initiated by the Kazakhstan School of Public Health, is a capacity building programme that offers young scientists an opportunity for continuous training. The Program ensures good linkage and integration between research and education. The School of Public Health ensures a close linkage between research carried out and the current scientific problems of the country. Another important principle of the programme is the focus on multidisciplinary scientific problems by integrating efforts of specialists in different fields. COHRED supported this program since 2003. It plans to expand this collaboration in coming years and focus on health research management capacity and on establishing linkages with other countries in the Central Asian region.
