Description: This Newsletter was created with the aim to widely disseminate information on the various aspects, activities and progress regarding the process of implementing ENHR in Nicaragua, and health research issues in general.

This issue includes a translated section of the book “ENHR. A Strategy for Action in health and Human Development”. It also provides an executive summary of the First National Workshop on ENHR, which highlights issues such as: strengthening research capacity, dissemination and utilization of research results, and the ENHR coordination mechanisms in Nicaragua.

It also includes an article which summarises the results of the priority setting experience held in the seven SILAIS (Local Systems of Integral Health Care) in November 1992. The conclusions of this process constitute the basis for building a National Health Research Agenda.
