Description: The Human Resource for Health Research (HR-HR) initiative is the first of its kind to be held in Africa and – indeed worldwide – that attempts to bring a holistic perspective to the issue of human resources for health research. The initiative is spearheaded by seven partners: AMREF, AfHRF, Council on Health Research for Development (COHRED), ACOSHED, EQUINET, Global Forum for Health Research and IDRC, that came together in 2004 to look at specific human resource needs and challenges needed to improve for health research in developing countries.
