Description: This case study of the Philippines is part of a multi-country study tracking resource flows for health research and development (R&D). It recognises that monitoring resource flows is a key input to any constructive discussion on health R&D policy. The report presents the results of the first phase of the study. It Documents the health research priority setting process in the country, and reviews the existing health R&D related data-sets.
Recommendations are given to improve the measurement of resource flows, to improve the matching of funds with priorities, and on capacity building to ensure the efficient use of the resources.
