Description: This study was commissioned by the Health Systems Research Institute to serve as a preliminary baseline review of the health needs of the general population. The major objective of the study was to assess the level of impact of disease, injuries and states of ill-health quantitatively as a tool for prioritisation and ranking according to disease categories. The study and its results were used as input for the national workshop on prioritisation of health research and development.
